BIO: Matt received his PhD in History from McGill University in 2015. Upon graduating, he spent two years as postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University where he researched and taught British imperial history. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of New Hampshire, where he is also the managing editor of the journal Eighteenth-Century Studies and co-editor of the online forum H-Atlantic. Matt has received fellowships from numerous funding bodies and research centers throughout North America, and has published in prominent international venues such as Slavery & Abolition and The Journal of British Studies. Matt brings an “editor’s eye” to all the submissions he reads, and specializes in preparing monographs and articles for external peer review. His clients have received book contracts with major university presses and have had their work accepted by leading journals in their fields. He offers both copyediting and feedback on organization, argument, and style. Matt’s goal as an editor is not only to improve the quality of individual pieces of writing, but also to offer personalized comments and suggestions to help authors express themselves in a clear, concise, and engaging manner in future work.
